QR Atlas privacy policy

QR Atlas has no account system and no server of ours. Your scans, created QR codes, notes, tags, photos and locations are stored only in a database on your device. The only data that leaves your phone goes to the third-party services described below: ads, crash reporting, optional link-safety checks and map tiles.

1. Data controller

The controller for the app and this website is DIODE LOGIC SL, Spanish tax ID (NIF) B22434658, Avenida de Manoteras 24, planta 2, 28050 Madrid, Spain. Contact: support@diodelogic.com.

2. Data stored on your device

When you use the app, the following is saved on your device and nowhere else. We cannot see, access or recover it.

The content of the QR codes you scan or create, with the names, comments, tags and favorites you add.
The location of each scan, only if you enable location tagging (off by default). It is used to show your scans on the in-app map.
Photos of scanned codes, only if you enable the option to save the original image.

3. Permissions and device features

Camera: To scan codes. Camera frames are processed on the device and never uploaded.
Location: Optional, only if you turn on location tagging, and only while using the app.
Contacts: Only when you choose to import a contact into a code or save a scanned contact card, through your phone’s own contact screens.
Calendar: Only when you choose to import or save a calendar event.
Photo gallery: Only when you choose to scan a code from an existing image.

4. Third-party services

The external services involved, and with which data, are these:

Google AdMob (advertising): Receives your device’s advertising identifier and standard ad-serving data to display banner ads. See Google’s privacy policy.
Firebase Crashlytics (stability): If the app crashes, an anonymous report (device model, OS version, stack trace) is sent so we can fix the problem. Reports never contain your codes or history.
Google Web Risk (security, optional): If you enable URL verification, scanned web addresses are checked against this service before you open them. With the option off, no URL is ever sent.
OpenStreetMap (maps): The in-app map loads its tiles from OpenStreetMap servers, which see your IP address like any website you visit. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.

6. Retention and deletion

Because everything is stored locally, you are in full control: delete single items in the app, wipe everything with Settings → Remove all history, or uninstall the app. There is nothing to request from us: we never had it.

7. Your rights

Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018, you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to support@diodelogic.com. Since the app’s data is stored on your device, in practice you exercise them directly from the app. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

8. Children

QR Atlas is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app’s third-party services, please contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, for example because a new feature uses a new service, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Relevant changes will also be announced inside the app.
