Scanner privacy policy

Scanner is a fully local desktop application. It never connects to the internet, has no accounts and includes no telemetry, ads or analytics. It only stores a summary of each scan on your computer.

1. Data controller

The controller for the app and this website is DIODE LOGIC SL, Spanish tax ID (NIF) B22434658, Avenida de Manoteras 24, planta 2, 28050 Madrid, Spain. Contact: support@diodelogic.com.

2. Data stored on your device

When you use the app, the following is saved on your device and nowhere else. We cannot see, access or recover it.

A summary of every scan: date, scanned folder, totals, the list of the biggest files (path and size) and totals per extension.
Your preferences (excluded folders, symbolic links, theme).
All of it in a single local database file: on macOS in ~/Library/Application Support/DiodelogicScanner, on Windows in %APPDATA%/DiodelogicScanner and on Linux in ~/.local/share/DiodelogicScanner.

3. Permissions and device features

File reading: Only to read names and sizes in the folders you scan. The app never opens file contents or modifies them.
Full Disk Access (macOS, optional): Needed only if you want to scan the whole disk, including system-protected folders.

4. Third-party services

The external services involved, and with which data, are these:

None: Scanner integrates no third-party services.

5. Network connections

The app performs no network connections.

6. Retention and deletion

Delete single scans from the History tab, clear the history from Settings or remove the data folder listed above. We hold no data about you.

7. Your rights

Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018, you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to support@diodelogic.com. Since the app’s data is stored on your device, in practice you exercise them directly from the app. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

8. Children

Scanner is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app’s third-party services, please contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, for example because a new feature uses a new service, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Relevant changes will also be announced inside the app.
